Inventory of entities which operate on a 24/7 basis and are lawfully mandated to provide expert advice to their respective national Civil Protection authorities with regard to natural hazards and/or disaster risks.
Coordinating Institutions: NOA+EUMETNET.
The objective of this Task is the creation of an inventory of entities which operate on a 24/7 basis and are lawfully mandated to provide expert advice to their respective national Civil Protection authorities with regard to natural hazards and/or disaster risks. However, currently there exist entities that already provide such advice at international levels within the UCPM. Therefore, the intention is to extend the inventory in a way that will include those entities that are already networked together in providing advice at international level.
Hazards of interest: floods, forest fires, earthquakes, tsunamis, storm surge, droughts , volcanic eruptions, landslides and severe weather events (including flash floods, heat waves).
The main method to be used for the inventory creation is conducting surveys. The intention is to organize an inventory as complete as possible. However, conducting a survey does not guarantee that all will respond, we will aim for an 80% response rate at T0 + 3 months. This could be completed and updated at later stages of the project.
